Principal's Message - Brendon Napier

Dear Families,

As we near the end of Term 1, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful community spirit we’ve shared over the past few weeks.

Last week, we celebrated Harmony Day, and it was great to see so many students and families embrace the occasion by wearing traditional dress. With such a diverse and inclusive community, events like this highlight just how diverse our OLHOC community is.

We also had our school cross country, and fortunately, the weather was on our side! A big thank you to Mr. Henson for all his hard work in organising this whole school event. Thanks also to Michael and Dan for ensuring the track was ready and safe for everyone, and a special shoutout to our staff and P&F volunteers for their support.

As we approach the holidays, I’d like to bring attention to the importance of student attendance. Regular attendance is essential for student success and personal growth, and we encourage families to prioritise this as we move into Term 2. Thank you also for your continued efforts in ensuring students are in the correct uniform and adhering to our guidelines for haircuts. Please ensure your child returns next term with the appropriate uniform and haircut, as these small things contribute to the pride we take in our school.

I really value the strong partnership we share with you all as parents and carers. When we work together, we achieve so much more for our students. It’s important that we teach our children to take accountability for their actions and to own their choices. By encouraging responsibility, rather than providing excuses, we help them grow into resilient, respectful, and well-rounded individuals.

"Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God." – Micah 6:8

As we approach the holidays, I encourage everyone to take time to rest and enjoy moments with those around you. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves during these holidays.

I look forward to seeing you around the school, whether at Mestrez Gate or the Balaclava entrance. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Respect, Love, Mercy and Community

God Bless
